FREE National Movement chairman Dr Duane Sands said the shortage of ambulances in New Providence proves Health Minister Dr Michael Darville’s “incompetence and mismanagement” of the healthcare system.
Dr Darville acknowledged the shortage of ambulances last week, though neither he nor other health officials confirmed how many are operational in New Providence. He said 14 new ambulances are expected to arrive within a few months.
Dr Sands, in a voice note yesterday, said the Davis administration is playing “Russian Roulette” with the lives of Bahamians.
“Suppose a child needs an ambulance right away,” he said. “Suppose somebody had a stroke or a heart attack. What if they were in a bad accident? Suppose there’s a major event or natural disaster.”
“All these murders and stabbings are putting extra pressure on emergency and ambulance services and people will die if they cannot get to the hospital as quickly as possible.
“The PLP, Brave Davis, and Michael Darville do not care about sick people. They have no compassion. And so, the Minister of Health and Wellness is making all kinds of lame excuses for his, their incompetence and mismanagement.
“You would think that Brave and they could have ordered some ambulances as a matter of priority when he was ordering his $200,000 BMW.
“And everywhere you look, you see these PLP ministers with brand new SUVs and cars, all riding in luxury and comfort because that is their priority. Buying new ambulances is way down on their list because, quite frankly, they don’t care about struggling people.”

Sands himself is an expert on playing Russian Roulette with the lives of the Bahamian people. Any one remember his swallowing, hook, line and sinker, of all the unscientific rubbish spewed by King Fauci, the ChiCom controlled WHO and the powerful big pharma companies during the early days of the COVID pandemic? His flawed endorsement of stay-at-home and closing of school policies practically destroyed our nation. And all the while he heavily criticized the very sensible pandemic policies implement by Florida based on the true science. Both Sands and Darville should never again be elected, let alone re-given the minister of health post.

Dr Sands makes a very good point, the Bahamas of Davis&Co has been caught(again failing to do the most basic tasks of governance and management. Please note Davis&Co are servants of the people, ideally Bahamians shouldn’t be paying VAT, duties and fees to politicians, but rather in return for government services.
If Davis&Co were in charge of a delivery business say, or a grocery chain how long would they remain in business if they didn’t maintain their transport fleet, order trucks parts, pay the electric bill, order food to stock the shelves, stagger produce so its not sitting being spouled? How long til their customers go elsewhere?
Now apply that to their failure in the duty of care for the health and well being of Bahamians and tourists. And we’re not talking about bushels of bananas, this is about human lives.

Dr sands has no credibility it is not as if he was a good minister of health he fell very short he Wants to be Pm he does not care about poor people Doctor Darville does he always did in Government or not I Do admit that health care in the Bahamas is in a bad condition when GBPA pay their bill some money should go to health care in the main time we must pray to the great physician for good health or many poor people will die,
