FORMER Turks and Caicos leader Michael Misick said he wants to return home to face justice according to news reports there.

An article in the Turks and Caicos Sun says the former premier, who is currently being detained in Brazil, wrote a 16-page hand-written letter of appeal from his maximum security cell.

The report said Mr Misick claims he is being held illegally and in violation of his human rights, because he has temporary political asylum in that country.

“He has called on the Turks and Caicos Islands government, the British government and Latin American governments to intervene on his behalf to ensure his release from unlawful detention in Brazil,” said the article, written by Sun publisher and editor in chief, Hayden Boyce.

“Misick said when he was arrested, he told SIPT police officer Tony Noble that he wanted to voluntarily return home to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

“The former premier said he also told a representative from the UK Consulate that there was no reason for an extradition request because he wanted to return to TCI,” it said.

Former Turks and Caicos leader Michael Misick was bought down by the British government; allegedly for corruption. OK, let’s assume, more likely that he was corrupt. Now let’s look at the British government corruption over the centuries; but particularly nowadays on just a couple of similar scenarios. Study carefully what the British did with the Chagos people from Diego Gracia an Archipelago in the Indian ocean; and of late Argentina’s claim of the Falklands island returning to Argentina. The British did much more corruption than Michael Misick can ever do - who will punish the British for their wrongdoing?
