Pandora's Box raises $500,000 for good causes

THE gala casino fundraiser “Pandora’s Box - Part Deux” brought in more than $500,000, organisers announced yesterday.

The event, held Saturday night at the Atlantis Grand Ballroom, was hosted by the Paradise Children’s Foundation.

Guests were amazed by Acrobazia, a two-man former Cirque du Soleil duo, the musical group the Hot Sardines, magician Jamy Ian Swiss and an abundance of acrobats and surprises.

As patrons entered, they were handed $1,000 in fantasy gaming chips and a glass of champagne poured by an upside-down trapeze artist.

The night included such fabulous prizes as a $25,000 shopping spree from Carlo Milano, $25,000 in Tanzanite jewels from Diamonds International and a brand new 2013 Mercedes donated by Island Luck Casinos.

More than $500,000 in prizes were donated for the silent and live auction, including the use of a private Gulfstream G500 jet, an all-inclusive week for two at Sir Richard Branson’s private Necker Island and numerous trips to destinations around the world.

Pandora’s Box is the biggest fundraiser held in the Bahamas and the profits benefit a variety of children’s charities and non-profit organisations in the country.

Could have retained your respect by settling amongst board of directors to raise only $475,000, rejecting the $25,000 Benz donation. I guess they figured if numbers monies were acceptable by some preachermans, the former Hubert regime's Hurricane relief fund as well as both PLP and red shirts candidates being the recipients of numbers rackets money, why not for a childrens foundation?

Could have retained your respect by settling amongst board of directors to raise only $495,975.000 by rejecting the $25,000 Benz donation. I guess they figured, if numbers monies were acceptable by some preachermans, the former Hubert regime's Hurricane relief fund as well as both PLP and red shirts candidates being the recipients of numbers rackets money, why not for a children's foundation? Love see the minutes of the meeting made public cause you got's know they must have discussed the source of the Benz? if not, why not?
