Time for Loretta

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Apart from the clear thoughts of the “fearless” MP for Long Island, Loretta Butler Turner, the opposition is toothless.

If one would match wits, Butler-Turner is clearly better equipped to speak for all Bahamians. If we were to look ahead and say who was better equipped to represent us diplomatically, again Butler-Turner is heads and shoulders above all of the rest.

An FNM mini rally was a clear example just how much the FNM respect or support Minnis. Immediately after Loretta Butler-Turner spoke the crowd left.

Now recently, there has been a mass exodus from the party by notable hierarchy. O’Brien Knowles, Assistant Treasurer, just left for the DNA, Vernae Grant, former MP for Eight Mile Rock, has left for the DNA. It is also rumoured that former Women’s Association President Elizabeth Thompson and former Registrar left, and now most recent, the sister of the first speaker of the House of Assembly has left.

It is time for a strong, courageous, committed, and compassionate FNM leader, who just happens to be a woman.

Other Caribbean countries and yes even the great United States, believe in women, as leaders, what happened to the Bahamas. We are always behind. How come?

I daresay this is as good a time as any for us to try a woman. Let us rally around Loretta, for the sake of our Bahamas. This is Loretta’s time.
