Craters in the road at Potter’s Cay

MORE pictures have been coming in showing some of the worst potholes in The Bahamas.

This time, the potholes were photographed in and around Potter’s Cay Dock (main picture above and on the left), with sizeable holes in the road that could easily cause damage to vehicles.

Picture below right are photos of potholes from around New Providence.

People need to remember that pot holes are sometimes unpreventable. Limestone, which is the bedrock of the island, erodes easily. Especially under wet conditions. Couple this with the constant use of the streets and the heat that it's constantly subjected to, it's only a matter of time before the roads begin to crack and fall apart.

It's not just the limestone island, roads world wide require constant maintenance...

its not just the maintenance of the asphalt roads, the problem comes in where contractors are not fallowing or given guideline from Government agencies on how to build our road, or government agencies just do not give a SHIT... about how taxpayers monies are being wasted. The road builders don't apply any Sealing Systems not-to-mention adhering to standard construction specifications for asphalt surfacing. If the the wrong aggregate, poor composition of Mix and insufficient compaction is the practice here in the Bahamas ...the road will develop pot holes.
