POLICE arrested a woman yesterday morning in connection with a shooting incident that left one man dead and three persons in hospital on Sunday.

Officer-in-charge of the Central Detective Unit, Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle said police are still searching for a male suspect they believe was also responsible for the shooting death of Elvis Cartwright.

According to police, shortly after 1am, a fight broke out at a party at a residence at Cess Hill, West Ridge north, which led to four people being shot by a man and a woman armed with a handgun. The male and female suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle.

A man, identified as Elvis Cartwright, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two men and a woman, who were also shot, were taken to hospital where they remain in stable condition.

Police sources said the female suspect got into an argument with a man and a woman at the party and was escorted out by security.

The woman returned a short while later, with the male suspect, and shot a man in the face before rejoining the party, sources said.

The victim tried to stop the two but was shot in his stomach. A woman was also shot in the leg and the DJ was shot in the shoulder, The Tribune understands.

A 47-second video of the incident – which was shared on Facebook – depicts an apparent commotion and persons attempting to separate various individuals.

At 42 seconds into the clip, one victim, wearing a green shirt, is seen approaching a person, clad in dark clothing and a hat, leaning against a wall. That person then pulls out a gun and opens fire on the man at point blank range in the chest, shooting multiple times.
