POLICE arrested a housebreaking suspect shortly after 1pm on Monday.

According to police reports, officers from the Southeastern Division received a report of a housebreaking in progress at a home located off St Vincent Road. When the responding officers arrived in the area, they saw three suspects fleeing from the home in a gold coloured vehicle.

The officers gave chase and caught up with the vehicle on Fire Trail Road where the three suspects fled on foot. Two of the suspects managed to escape, however one of the suspects was taken into custody.

The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered a number of electronic items, including televisions, laptops and cell phones.

Police believe that the suspects are responsible for a number of housebreakings in the southwestern area of New Providence.
