I MET with an accountant in Jersey, Channel Islands yesterday who had recently met with an eminent law firm in London to discuss Bermuda.

The law firm mentioned that business was beginning to flow back to the Bahamas as unlike Bermuda, Cayman and other British dependent states and tax havens the Bahamas is a sovereign state and therefore Independent of British influence. I wonder if the Financial Services Ministry is getting this message.

To make the Bahamas even more attractive it does mean I would think making sure the country’s finances are in order and that Moody’s does not downgrade the debt further and preferably goes the other way at their next inspection.
