AFTER three months of training, three new Family Island Administrators have been sworn in this week.

Earl Campbell, Frances Hepburn-Symonette and Smith-Ingraham have all worked in various agencies of the government.

During an induction ceremony at the Department of Local Government on Monday, the inductees were congratulated for their hard work and volunteerism. Minister of Financial Services and Local Government, Hope Strachan, said that the task ahead was a “daunting” but “rewarding” one.

“You’re striking out into a new world with new responsibilities but the good thing is that, that path has already been beaten, therefore, please reach out to others to get the assistance that you need and try to use all the resources available to you so that you can do your best,” Mrs Strachan said.

Acting Director of the Department of Local Government, Charles King, also encouraged the new Administrators to seek support from others.

The new Administrators will be relocated to various Family Islands and will have the responsibility of managing the affairs there. They will work closely with government agencies as their duties will encompass all facets of governmental operations.
