New PLP faces

EDITOR, The Tribune.

The PLP is having its convention this week. Philip Davis and Glenys Hanna-Martin are running to be leader. Mr Davis should win. He has the money and he is a man. Those are the deciding factors in that competition.

The PLP is far from coming back. Bahamians are not interested in the party or its message right now. Too much money went missing last time. There were too many scandals. Perry Christie embarrassed himself trying to lead when he was past his usefulness.

For the PLP to come back the party needs a fresh and new slate of candidates and officers. Mr. Davis should be the only former candidate to run again when the next election comes around in five years.

The rejects must be retired. Bahamians are tired of those same old PLP faces who have sought power for two, three or four decades.

If the PLP could have a total facelift, Bahamians could start listening again to the party’s message. If Mr Davis brings back the Team of Rejects, they will lose next time even worse.

Brave should be the first one to step down. Their biggest mistake is for brave to run as leader. If they want to win the heart of bahamians again, Chester cooper should have put his name forward as leader and start to rebuild with young new faces. That is what the FNM did and you see the results.
