ROYAL Fidelity has come on board as the proud sponsor of the Bahamas Golf Federation's junior national team that is representing the Bahamas in the 2019 Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships at the Albany resort.
Six Caribbean countries are competing in the championships - The Bahamas, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. The event is in its 32nd year.
The 12-member junior team representing The Bahamas range in age from 11 to 18.
"This group of junior golfers is going head-to-head against some of the best in the Caribbean, which provides a tremendous challenge and high level of exposure," said David Slatter, assistant vice president of investments at Royal Fidelity.
"We are very pleased with their progress in the sport, having followed their performance in The Dominican Republic last month.
"Royal Fidelity is pleased to invest in the national team both to create these opportunities for young golfers as well as to promote the development of the sport in The Bahamas."
Royal Fidelity is also the national golf team sponsor and has outfitted both the junior and senior teams with uniform shirts, hats, and golf bags.
Both teams competed in the 2019 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships in The Dominican Republic in June.
The senior team is expected to compete in another tournament in Palm Beach, Florida, in October.
The BGF, CAJGC host and the event organisers thanked Royal Fidelity for its sponsorship.
"Royal Fidelity has been a huge supporter of junior golf over the years. We commend them for their ongoing commitment to young people both on and off the course," according to Lynford Miller, BGF president.
The championships will conclude today.
