Thank you for Chippie honour

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I just want to say that I truly enjoy your Tribune Weekend section and applaud the writers, editors and photographers for the incredible work they do on a consistent basis. The magazine has become a weekly must-read for so many people, myself included.

Its recent cover of the late great, John “Chippie” Chipman brought tears to my eyes and was one worthy of being framed. So often, we lose legends and cultural icons who have helped to define the times in our country, yet they only receive a small mention in the papers.

By giving Chipman the cover shot, you paid homage to his life’s work and exposed him to a new generation of Bahamians who may have been unfamiliar with him and his work. Thank you for paying a proper tribute to our nation’s drummer boy.

I also thank The Tribune for giving creatives as a whole a wonderful platform to share their talents. The nation is being exposed to singers, actors, bloggers, fashion designers and photographers who they ordinarily would not have heard from were it not for your newspaper. Trust me, the creative community appreciates it.

Keep up the incredible work!
