A 36-YEAR-OLD man was charged with manslaughter yesterday.
Farren Roberts appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney charged with the death of Matthew Wright on August 11.
Due to the nature of the offence, he was not required to enter a plea and the matter was adjourned to November 12 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
In the meantime, Roberts was denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
He has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
Meanwhile, a teenager was remanded to custody after he was accused of using a handgun to rob a man of over $400 worth of his personal belongings.
Police said Christopher Butler,19, robbed Reginald Minns of $150 cash and a $280 Samsung cellphone on August 3.
Like Roberts, he was not required to enter a plea to the charge. He returns to court on December 8 to be served with his VBI.
He was denied bail and remanded into custody until that time.
