DANRAD Knowles continues to have an immediate impact on his Agrupación Deportiva Cantbasket 04 Santander club in Spain.
Knowles was the top scorer for the second consecutive game and his 19 points led his club to an 81-75 win over Raisan Pas Piélagos in the Liga Española de Baloncesto Aficionado (Liga EBA) preseason finale.
AD Cantbasket led 15-13 after the first, but trailed 36-33 at the half. Raisan opened a 10 point lead in the third quarter (59-49) but Cantbasket rallied to come to within three headed into the final frame, 60-57. AD Cantbasket opened the fourth on a 6-0 run to take the lead for good and maintained that advantage the rest of the way.
Santander will open their 2021-22 season next Saturday, September 18 against LBC Cocinas.com at the Espartero Sports Center in n Logroño, Spain.
In his first appearance with the club last week, Knowles scored a game high 17 to lead Cantbasket to a 62-60 win over Getxo ST at the Fadura Sports Center in Gexto, Spain. He averaged 18 points per game in the preseason.
AD Cantbasket 04, is based in Santander, Cantabria, Spain, and competes in Liga EBA. It is the fourth tier level in the Spanish basketball system, after the Liga ACB, LEB Oro, and LEB Plata.
Knowles last played locally in the New Providence Basketball Association with the Discount Distributors Rockets, where he averaged 10 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
As a prep prospect, Knowles was ranked 51st in the ESPN top 100 and he eventually committed to the Houston Cougars over Baylor and Arkansas.
Following his senior season, Knowles finished his Cougars tenure as a school record holder with 72 conference games played and was tied for fourth in Houston career history with 126 games played.
He was selected by the Grand Rapids Drive with the 65th overall selection of the 2018 G-League Draft. The Grand Rapids Drive are the G-League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons.
With the senior men’s national team programme, Knowles was most recently a member of team Bahamas’ team at the FIBA AmeriCup Qualifiers and World Cup China 2019 Qualifiers.
