A MAN was remanded to prison yesterday after he was charged in connection with a fatal nightclub shooting that left a man dead.
Cenopha “Donkey” Augustin, 24, faced Magistrate Algernon Allen, Jr, on a charge of murder.
He is accused of fatally shooting George Seymour, Jr, after getting into an argument on August 20 at the Charms nightclub in Centreville.
Augustin was not required to enter a plea in court. He was informed that his case would proceed by a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
The magistrate also told the accused that he lacked the jurisdiction to grant him bail, but that Augustin could apply for it through the Supreme Court, where his matter will be heard.
Until he is granted bail the accused will be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
Augustin is expected to be served his VBI on October 29.
