TWO men, one of whom is a British citizen, were arraigned in Magistrate’s Court yesterday on separate charges of indecent assault.
Alexander Colebrooke, 27, appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain on charges of burglary and indecent assault.
Around 2am on September 6 in New Providence, Colebrooke is alleged to have broken into the home of a 19-year-old female where he then indecently assaulted her.
He was not required to enter a plea in court. Colebrooke was informed that his case would be fast tracked to the Supreme Court by way of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
While the accused was denied bail in court, he was told that he could apply for it at the Supreme Court. Until bail is granted to Colebrooke, he will be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDCS).
Colebrooke’s VBI is slated for service on December 5.
The other man, Steen Nielsen, 53, of Hornsey, London, faced Magistrate Shaka Serville on a charge of indecent assault.
Nielsen is accused of indecently assaulting a 41-year-old woman on September 6 in New Providence.
Nielsen was not required to enter a plea in court and was informed that his matter would proceed to the Supreme Court by way of a VBI.
Nielsen will be remanded to BDCS until he is granted Supreme Court bail.
Nielsen’s VBI will be served on December 6.
