A 23-year-old man was granted $9,500 bail in court after he denied stealing someone’s car last month.

Brenville Hanna, Jr, faced Magistrate Algernon Allen, Jr, on charges of stealing and receiving.

It is alleged that on March 27 in New Providence Hanna is said to have stolen a silver coloured 2006 Honda Civic belonging to Deshawn Charlot. The vehicle is valued at $5,000.

In court the accused pleaded not guilty to the offence. While prosecution objected to bail it was granted to Hanna at $9,500 with one or two sureties. Under the conditions of this bail he is expected to sign in at his local police station every Tuesday and Thursday.

Hanna’s trial is set for May 30.
