International Day of the Girl 2026 was observed on Friday, slightly ahead of the official date, October 11, to the theme, ‘Silenced, Invisible, Deleted, Supporting Girls’ Rights.’
Patron, Mrs Ann Marie Davis, of the Office of the Spouse of the Prime Minister, delivered remarks to girls from various schools in ceremonies at Breezes Bahamas.
The Bahamas actively observes the United Nations’ International Day of the Girl Child every year.
The national celebrations focus heavily on female empowerment, leadership development, youth activism, and advocating for equal educational access and the rights of young women across the archipelago.
