BAHAMIAN striker Lesly St Fleur made a memorable debut for Montego Bay United Football Club (MBUFC when he scored once and set up the other goal in the team's 2-0 win over Village United. St Fleur was playing in the Red Stripe Premier League western derby at Montego Bay stadium in St James on Sunday night. The win, MBUFC's first in the competition's third round, lifted them into the top six of the 12-team competition as they improved their points tally to 38. Village United, who were losing for the 17th time in 28 games, remain rooted at the bottom of the standings with 21. "Lesly (St Fleur) made the difference out there tonight. He brought a lot of sharpness to our attack," said MBUFC's coach, Neider Dos Santos, who previously coached St Fleur when he marshalled the Bahamas' national team. "We are still making some silly mistakes in defence so we have to continue working hard to fix that problem," he added. Village United, which must have left the venue cursing their luck after missing several easy chances - primarily through national player Dino Williams - perplexed coach Danilo Barrigga. Chances to win "We got enough chances to have won this game easily, but we were not sharp enough before the goal," said Barrigga. "We have a lot of work to do on the training ground to address our finishing." MBUFC dominated the early exchanges with St Fleur running the Village United defence ragged on the right flank. However, he fell prey to lack of quality support as Mauracio Gordon wasted two good early openings the Bahamian created. They also wasted the easiest of chances when St Fleur traded passes with Jermaine Woozencroft inside the goal area but the latter kicked high with the goalkeeper at his mercy. Midway to the half, Village United came into their own and went close to scoring twice, the easier opportunity coming in the 30th minute when Williams broke clean on goal but was denied by a fantastic save by goalkeeper Jacomena Barrett. The rebound fell to Ronaldo Rodney, who booted over the crossbar. MoBay United took the lead in the 41st minute. After splitting the defence with a sharp dribble, St Fleur was brought down but the ball rolled to Graeme Green who slotted home, making the half-time score 1-0. Mobay controlled the pace for the vast majority of the second half and were further rewarded with a goal in the 88th minute when St Fleur pounced before goal and made the final score 2-0.
