Supt Stephen Dean said the case has been forwarded to the Attorney General's Office as charges were not brought by police due to lack of evidence, so prosecutors will now decide the way forward. "Despite reports in one of the local papers that the teacher accused has absconded justice, he has not. He did leave the island because of bad press, but we know where he is," Mr Dean said. CDU chief Paul Rolle confirmed that a team of officers arrived on the island yesterday morning. Up to press time, Mr Rolle could not provide an update on the investigation. The man is the seventh teacher to be accused of sexually inappropriate behaviour since the Ministry of Education established its Sexual Complaints Unit in 2009, specifically to investigate and uncover child abuse. The Tribune has learned that a female student of Haitian descent reported that she and the teacher had engaged in sexual acts. The student reportedly claimed to have text messages proving the relationship.
