MEN from the Anglican Diocese of the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos will come togther for the 39th annual Anglican Church Men's Conference.
The five day conference will convene in Clarence Town, Long Island starting March 21.
The theme for this year's conference is "The Model of a Man" and will set the tone for an ACM mentoring program that will provide positive role models needed in the country.
Dr Cornville Brown and Justice Bernard Turner will present on "Male Wellness" and "Becoming a Role Model" during the conference.
"I must say that we are very pleased with our results and we are looking forward to a very exciting conference. We have in place a great program/schedule that includes two dynamic speakers.
About one hundred delegates are registered for the conference, including representatives from the Bahamas and the Turks and Cacios Islands, said committee chairman Eddie Archer.
He extended thanks to committee members and the Ministry of Tourism in Long Island for hosting the group.
"I would like to send a sincere thank you to members of the planning committee in Nassau, our committee co-chair for Grand Bahama and Northern Bahamas and our committee co-chair in Long Island, without whom this would not have been possible. We started as a team some seven months ago, and at the outset our goal was to plan a conference that centered on prayer, community projects, workshops, fellowship and discussion on two critical initiatives to be undertaken by the ACM during 2012," he said.
The two initiatives are the Overall Wellness of Men with emphasis placed on prostate cancer and a Big Brother/Lil Brother Program, with the view to mentoring young men in our communities by providing positive role models which they can emulate.
