AN elite group of talented Bahamian artists will exhibit their works at Abaco Beach Resort during the Art for the Parks Festival, to be held January 27-29.
The annual event, a collaboration between Abaco Beach Resort, the Bahamas National Trust and corporate sponsors, brings together more than 30 artists and craftsmen.
The festival provides residents and visitors with a unique opportunity to view and purchase artwork while raising awareness and funding for the preservation of Abaco's six national parks.
Some of the featured artists will include: Andy Albury, Gail and Bruce Barton, Brigitte Bowyer Carey, Kim Roberts, Trevor Tucker, Marco Mullings, Bruce Pinder, John Paul, Anthony Morley, Kristen Pearce, Dave Lowe, Stephen Knowles, Jo-ann Bradley, Nicole Angelica, Kent LeBoutillier, Tami Cash, Paulette Mortimer, David Lowe, Shammond Hanna, Stacey Adderley, Attila Feszt, Roshanne Minnis Eyma, Ritchie Eyma and Kim Rody.
A feature of the Friday night will be the special "Take a Seat for Conservation" silent auction with original hand-painted stools by the participating artists up for bid.
Art for the Parks will feature musical entertainment, local cuisine, an interactive children's mural, a chalk art competition, art demonstrations and a Heritage Tent with history workshops.
It will be held on Friday, January 27, from noon to 3pm; Saturday from 6pm to 9pm and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12.
