EDITOR, The Tribune. I WRITE about the recent prognostication or prediction released by Standard & Poor (S&P) on their perceived findings about my country's economic and financial status. Firstly, we in The Bahamas have not received their grim outlook on us because we do not look to man as our source. Rather the great God and Creator of this universe is our source (our help in the time of trouble). He has assured us that we will succeed. He has also assured us that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord and that's The Bahamas. My pronouncements contrary to God's promises, is not of God and thus cannot and will not be received. That devil is a liar. The Bahamas stands as a beacon in the world. The Great God of this universe lives in The Bahamas. If you do not believe it, just take a look around you. What wonders to behold, I mean what natural beauty and blessed people. God is not a man that He should lie, or the son of man that he repents. What he said will happen, will happen, because he stands by his word to perform it. So Standard & Poor, you are wasting your time. We in The Bahamas believe that no weapon that is formed against us, shall prosper and every tongue that rises up against The Bahamas shall be condemned by God. This is His promise to the people of this fair land. While we wait on the Lord to move on our behalf, and, yes, we have our share of problems, as has every other country, including the great United States of America, but I tell you, we shall not be deterred as we move forward, onward, upward and together. I have some questions of my own:- 1) I wonder: How does Standard & Poor rate itself? 2) Are they a failing company or group? Where the struggles within have already begun to destabilise the very core principles on which it was founded? Hypothetically speaking, if you have a patient and one waited to check their vital signs, you would have to lay your hands actually on the person, in order to get the precise reading or pulse rate. So too, if you wanted to know exactly what goes on in The Bahamas you cannot be in the United States and know what is happening here. Finally, how did S&P get their information?
