By NATARIO McKENZIE Tribune Business Reporter nmckenzie@tribunemedia.net BAHAMAS Striping, a grant-winning company from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture's Self-Starter Programme is looking at some busy weeks ahead, according to its President Atario Mitchell who told Tribune Business that his company was in the process of finalising a deal for striping works at the new $30 million national stadium. "Between now and March is going to be a very busy time for us," Mr Mitchell told Tribune Business. He added: "The response from the public and private sector has been overwhelming and to think it all started with a 5,000 grant. The company is doing really good and I look forward to more work to come." Mr Mitchell noted that the company had recently completed striping works at the new Solomon's Fresh Market which he said was the company's biggest job to date. "We have the second phase of the airport that should be kicking off in March. We have the new stadium that should be kicking off by the 20. I have a contract to do the new international airport in Abaco which should be starting at the end of this month," Mr Mitchell said. The company recently invested some $80,000 in a pre-melted trailer. "It holds like 1,500 tons of thermoplastic at a time so that will help speed up my productivity in terms of thermoplastic works and by speeding up my productivity that should get me on to more of the larger projects. I think that is a good investment based on all the larger projects that are coming up," Mr Mitchell said. Mr Mitchell noted that his company employs eight full time and four part-time employees. "I have three individuals from the job placement programme. Everyone is catching on and doing pretty good," Mr Mitchell said.
