Bahamian artist Puzzle is capitalising on election fever with the release of his newest single, "Vote 4 Me".
The song which debuted two weeks ago urges Bahamians to exercise their constitutional right by marking a ballot on voting day.
"It is not a PLP, FNM, DNA song. I basically wrote the song to encourage Bahamians to get out there and vote because it is our right. We all need to come together and vote because that is the only way we will be able to see some kind of change in our country," Puzzle told In Ya Ear.
Vote 4 Me is gaining airplay on major radio stations locally and Puzzle hopes his song moves people to take a stand.
"I am calling out to all Bahamians everywhere, on the Family Islands, in the United States and the Bahamians who are here. We want them to take part. This song takes no sides. It is straight and center. It has a serious message to and it is a great song," he said.
"The brutality in the air that I don't care who wins. We're responsible and accountable for who we choose to let in. We gat to believe we have a say, we gat to believe we have a voice. I need everyone to open your hearts and see that you gat a choice."
Puzzle worked closely with mix engineer Oswald Bowe, and Stan Burnside who did the artwork for "Vote 4 Me".
"All of my songs I try to make as timely as possible," he said.
Vote 4 Me is expected to make the cut on Puzzle's new album, scheduled for release early summer. The untitled album will be a compilation of Puzzle's hottest hits including "Sour Vibes", "Go Gal", "Barefoot Bandit", "Jobless", "Big Tings Agawn" and "Mummy I Pregnant".
"This will be a collection of my best work and then some. There will also be unreleased songs on the album as well," he said.
Puzzle had an exceptional year in 2011. The artist said he was grateful for the opportunity to perform at every regatta and is looking forward to doing the same thing this year.
Some of Puzzle's recent work and collaborations include recording and remixing at the Hit Factory Criteria in Miami, working with music engineer and Lenny Kravitz's, Matt Knobel, for his hit single "Animal" and Miami based producers Sugar Dip on "Hispanic Girls".
The artist is still reaping rewards from the successful release of "Barefoot Bandit".
In the past, he recorded at Johnny Wright's compound studio in Orlando, recorded with producers in London. The artist also shot the video for his hit song "Animal" in South Beach, Miami.
Puzzle's first single "Sour Vibes" held the number one spot for 10 weeks.
