By RENALDO DORSETT Sports Reporter rdorsett@tribunemedia.net An undefeated streak in the Bahamas Association of Independent Secondary Schools (BAISS) that has reached 27 games over two seasons led to the Queen's College Comets junior boys claiming their second consecutive basketball title. In game two yesterday, the Comets closed out the Kingsway Academy Saints with a 57-42 win in the best-of-three series at Kendal Isaacs gym. Daejour Adderley and Edjah Fawkes again combined to lead the Comets as they have all year. Adderley led the Comets with 24 points while Fawkes finished with 16 points and seven assists. Jordan Suddereth also added 13 points as the third starter in double figures. Sebastian Gray led the Saints with a game high 26 points. "We knew it would be hard to close them out because they were right there in game one so they would come out hard but we just know we had to step it up, especially defensively," Adderley said. "It feels good to win back to back, we worked hard at this for two years and we deserve it." Tied at 23 with 1:37 left to play in the second quarter on a Sebastian Gray tip in, QC responded with a 7-2 run to end the half and take control for good. Adderley scored on a lay-up in traffic and followed with a three-pointer from the left wing. Fawkes dished an assist to Suddereth for a 30-23 lead. QC led 30-25 at the half following a pair of free throws from Gray. In a foul heavy third quarter, QC was in the bonus with 1:47 left to play. The lead pushed into double figures on a Suddereth lay-up, 40-29. The Comets led 46-30 headed into the fourth quarter. It was all Comets in the fourth as the Saints couldn't contend with the half-court trap. Putback Another key putback from Suddereth gave the Comets a 53-32 lead with 3:17 left to play. Comets head coach Dwayne Smith applauded his team for its resilience. "It feels great to win back to back, especially seeing where the programme has grown over the past few years. We have a club called the Huskies Junior Ballers and we went to a tournament in Las Vegas this summer and it really helped their games develop a lot. We started off slow but we ended the game really strong and that's what I love about this team, their ability to fight."
