POLICE are still unsure about the circumstances that lead to the shooting deaths of two men over the weekend.
The body of a man was found laying in the middle of the road hours after a HIV peer educator was found gunned down inside an apartment building on Saturday.
Assistant Superintendent Clayton Fernander said police are investigating both matters, but still have no idea why the men were killed.
"We have no new updates. The two bodies have been identified and we are talking to family members and people in the neighborhoods. Officers are following leads and we hope to have a break in the cases soon. As of right now, we do not have a motive and we do not know what happened. But we are hoping to catch a break soon," he said.
Alexander Curry, 22, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds inside an apartment at Prison Lane off East Street shortly after 5pm.
Later that evening, the body of Tamal Stubbs, 31, of Springfield Road, Foxdale Subdivision, was found lying in the middle of the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police are asking anyone who may have information to contact them by calling 911 or 919, crime stoppers on 328-TIPS, or the CDU on 502-9991. Last night, the country's murder count stood at 112.
