REGGAE artist, Delyno Brown popularly known as "Pressure Bust Pipe" is recovering from gun shot wounds to his upper thigh.
The artist who is known for his hit song "Coming Right Back" was among three people who were shot in the Virgin Islands on February 24.
One of the other victims is said to be a popular promoter for an event which Pressure and reggae artist Lady Saw were expected to perform. He succumbed to his injuries.
During an interview with In Ya Ear, Pressure, recalled the incident that has left him nursing wounds.
"The promoter and I was having a conversation about certain aspects of the concert. Then the gunman came from behind a building and started firing shots in our direction. I found out that the shots were not intended for me but I got hit," he said.
Pressure received a flesh wound in the incident that appeared to be a targeted attack on at least one of the other victims. Virgin Island media reported there were no arrests immediately after the incident.
"I am okay. I got a wound but the bullet did not hit any muscle or arteries or anything like that. The wound is still fresh and I am walking with a limp. I give thanks to Jah because it could have been much worst than it was," he said.
The day after the shooting, the scheduled event continued, with Pressure and Lady Saw hitting the stage.
Pressure is no stranger to the islands of the Bahamas. In fact he has a growing fan base here that is praying for his recovery.
"The fact that Pressure was shot makes me question his safety. Pressure produces such good music and I would never want to see him leave anytime soon. I want him to keep making good music," one fan said.
"I hope he recovers soon enough so he can come to the Bahamas and perform. I Love his music and he has a really good future ahead," said Deandra.
Pressure has done several shows in the Bahamas. Most notably, he collaborated with The Illest reggae band.
Shortly after the release of his new album "African Redemption", Pressure said his fans in the Bahamas could expect to see him. He recommitted to his visit.
"I expect the album to be released in the early part of April. After the release I will be down in the Bahamas to have a release party. The Bahamas is one of my favourite places, so I hope to come soon," Pressure told In Ya Ear.
Pressure also thanked his fans for their prayers and support.
"I give thanks for all of the support and prayers. I give thanks for love and life and I want my fans to know that I appreciate all the love. I want them to look for the release of my album real soon too," he said.
