FLOOD warnings have been issued for low lying areas as heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to continue today, the Department of Meteorology said.
Residents in the Northwest and Central Bahamas have been asked to exercise caution due to the continued risk of flooding.
This unsettled weather, which is expected to continue throughout the week, has brought with it heavy showers and thunderstorms.
Boaters were also warned to be on alert for gusty winds and higher seas near the weather system. Winds are expected to be southerly at 10 knots or less, becoming light and variable at times.
For the Central and Southeast Bahamas, the weather is fair and warm with the chance of a few isolated showers across the Central Bahamas. However, it will still remain partly cloudy and with the chance of a passing shower mainly across the central Bahamas today.
