WHILE Temple Fellowship turned the tables on Macedonia to win the 19-and-under title, Golden Gates pulled a double whammy on St Paul's for the co-ed and men's titles on championship day Saturday. The games brought the curtain down on their 2011 Bishop Neil C Ellis Softball Classic and their sporting calendar for the year in the Banker's Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex. Pennant winning Temple Fellowship had to go the full distance before they dethroned Macedonia 7-6 in the third and deciding game to change positions from last year when they finished as the runners-up. Macedonia took the opener 5-4 to hand Temple Fellowship their first loss for the season. But in game two, Temple Fellowship took their frustration out by evening up the series at 1-1 with a 12-4 rout to force the only series that went right down the wire. In the co-ed division, pennant winning Golden Gates was a little too much for defending champions St Paul's to handle as they completed a sweep of their three-game series with a 9-5 win in game two. And if that wasn't enough, Golden Gates clinched another double championship feat as their pennant winning men's team didn't have any mercy on St Paul's as they pounded them 18-4 to finish off another sweep for a perfect season, just as they did in the co-ed division. Rev Ellerston Smith, the youth director of the Bahamas Baptist National Missionary and Educational Convention, was on hand to deliver some closing remarks. He thanked the executives of the BSC - an arm of the Youth Department - for staging another successful season, the teams for their participation and great sportsmanship. He also wished them all a Merry Christmas and hoped to see them back next year when the sporting programme picks up 6am January 28 with the Family Fun Run/Walk Road Race starting and finishing in front of the Charles W Saunders High School on Jean Street. In the individual awards, it was a clean sweep for Temple Fellowship as shortstop Angelo Butler was named the 19-and-under's championship most valuable player, center fielder Addie Finley took home the regular season batting title and Zack Rahming was the best pitcher. And in both the co-ed and men's division, all of the awards went to Golden Gates. In the co-ed division, Ken Wood Jr was the championship MVP and the best pitcher in the regular season, while center fielder Candice Smith won the batting title. Second baseman Marion Johnson carted off the championship MVP crown, while Ken Wood Jr got the regular season batting title and Junior Moss was the best pitcher. Here's a look at the summary of games played on Saturday: Temple Fellowship 7, Macedonia 6 On their way to winning the 19-and-under title, Temple Fellowship scored five runs in the bottom of the first and two more in the third to hold off a late charge by Macedonia, who fell short after scoring one in the first and two each in the fourth and fifth. Addie Finley had a home run, Rudy Fox was 2-for-3, scoring a run and Angelo Butler had a two-run double, scoring a run in the win. Zach Rahming was the winning pitcher. Michael Ingraham was tagged with the loss. D'Kyle Rolle was 2-for-4 with two RBI, scoring a run in a losing effort. Temple Fellowship 12, Macedonia 4 Addie Finley was 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored, Deval Storr was 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored as winning pitcher Zack Rahming went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored to even the 19-and-under series at 1-1. D'Kyle Rolle was 2-for-2 with a RBI and run scored and both Jaray Fernander and Waymond Demeritte had a hit, scoring a run. Michael Ingraham was the losing pitcher. Macedonia 5, Temple Fellowship 4 Zhivargo Archer went 2-for-4 with a RBI, scoring twice and Shaquille Delancy had a home run as Michael Ingraham got the win on the mound for Macedonia in game one of the 19-and-under series. Angelo Butler went 2-for-3 with a RBI and run scored and Chris McPhee was 2-for-3 with a RBI. Deval Storr was the losing pitcher. Golden Gates 18, St Paul's 4 Myron Johnson had a perfect 4-for-4 day with three RBI, scoring twice and winning pitcher Ken Wood Jr helped his own cause by going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Sherman Ferguson cracked a two-run homer and both Darren Sweeting and Michael Thompson had three hits with Sweeting scoring three times and Thompson coming home with a RBI to help out. Lynden Gaitor had a two-run homer for the loss. Harold 'Banker' Fritzgerald was the losing pitcher. Golden Gates 9, St Paul's 5 Ramon Johnson was 3-for-3 with a RBI, scoring twice (another from pinch runner Myron Johnson) and both Nicara Curtis and winning pitcher Ken Wood Jr were 2-for-4, scoring a run in their co-ed win, while Wood Jr drove in three runs. Lamar Watkins was 3-for-3, scoring twice in the loss and Kelly Smith was the losing pitcher.
