CONGRATULATIONS are in order. The Bahamian people swallowed the PLP's message hook, line and sinker. They said in no uncertain terms that they did not want the FNM, and that they trust the PLP to be in charge of their affairs for the next five years. They believe that there will be no more murder and that all of the unemployed will be employed. They also believe that corruption will cease.
The campaign was gruesome and exhausting, but I would like to paint a scenario. Imagine going to a rich man's party where there was plenty food, free drinks flowing like a river, and a very slack loose atmosphere where everyone got drunk. The party lasted all night. People were vomiting all over the place and early the next morning when you woke up, you were sleeping next to the easiest, ugliest woman.
This scenario is what happened in the last few months and weeks. Now the ugliest woman may be pregnant, but there may also be more serious concerns, she is negative. How can you undo that? What prayer can you send up to save you? It's too late. There is no turning back.
Now you are fully awake, sober. You're going to die, you just don't know when but you know that the end draweth nigh.
Now we all will see just how genuine the PLP are this time. We all, even the blind, know what they did last time. We will see how or who will make a mad dash at the cookie jar.
I accept the results, but I hope the Bahamian people don't believe for one second that there would not be another murder, or all of the people will be hired. If you believe that the PLP have changed for one second, you've been had, hoodwinked, bamboozled, run amuck, lied to.
Time will tell my brothers and sisters.
Soldiers do not cry, they regroup and return. AMEN!
