"Be imitators of me as I am of Christ". I Cor. 11:1
From March 21-25, the Anglican Church Men in the Diocese of the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands gathered for the 39th Conference on Long Island.
The occasion was a time to strengthen the bonds of unity and fellowship, as men from all over the diocese came to be recharged to continue in ministry. The A.C.M. comprises men from all strata of society, bringing with them a wealth of experience and wisdom to tackle the challenges faced in the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The contingent of over 100 men travelled north to the St. Joseph's Anglican Church in Thompson Bay, where the Patronal Festival would be celebrated in tandem with the ACM Conference opening service.
Archdeacon G. Kingsley Knowles-Rector of St. George's, New Providence, preached the sermon, encouraging the delegates to take a page of Joseph's book in terms of the lifestyle he exhibited in rearing Jesus to adulthood.
He further stated that from the time Jesus was conceived in Mary's womb he was obedient to the call of God on his life.
Venerable Knowles encouraged men to be obedient to God's call on their life. He further asserted that the men should embrace their dreams as Joseph did and realise that God controls their varied destinations and would allow them to stand like Joseph if they are obedient
Archdeacon Knowles inducted the A.C.M. Branch of St. Peter into the fellowship of the Diocesan A.C.M. organisation.
The conference marked the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the A.C.M. Organisation, which began in 1972.
