Alfred Forbes, president of the GSSSA, said Cable Bahamas' financial support, along with its charitable coverage of the organisation's event, has catapulted secondary school sports to a new level. "It has come a long way," he said. "Hopefully this (award) is just the first of many more to come (for Cable Bahamas)."

Alexia Coakley, station manager at Cable12, accepted the award on behalf of Cable Bahamas, saying it is the company's mandate to assist in the development of sports in the Bahamas. "The GSSSA can expect support in the future," she said.

Evon Wisdom, sports officer in the Ministry of Education, said he and the ministry hopes to use Cable Bahamas' partnership with the GSSSA to highlight sports and sporting events on the Family Islands. "These schools are not exposed," he said. He lauded Cable Bahamas for its lending of thousands of dollars worth of equipment and man hours to bring secondary school sports to the entire Bahamas.
