FREEPORT - Grand Bahama recorded its second traffic death for the year when a toddler, who was struck by a car on April 1 in Eight Mile Rock, died on Thursday.
According to reports, a car, driven by a woman who has yet to be officially identified, hit the two-year-old in the Jones Town area around 2pm on Sunday, April 1.
The child was airlifted to the Princess Margaret Hospital in Nassau for medical assistance, where he died on April 27.
Asst Supt Loretta Mackey is urging motorists to slow down and obey speed limits.
On Friday, police conducted a traffic road exercise on Seahorse Road. Motorists were cited for speeding, not wearing seat belts, and non-functioning rear brake lights.
Ms Mackey said 30 motorists were cited speeding.
