A 17-year-old Lazaretto Road boy was taken into custody after police confiscated a handgun.
Officers of the Central Detective Unit (CDU) detained him for questioning shortly after 5am Sunday at Lazaretto Road, off Carmichael Road.
Active police investigations continue.
SIX people were arrested and 44 drivers were cited for traffic violations over the weekend.
According to police reports, an operation was conducted between 8pm on Friday to 4am on Saturday.
Officers detained a 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman for questioning after finding a quantity of suspected marijuana, while four men with outstanding warrants were arrested.
OFFICERS of the Selective Enforcement Team (SET) confiscated a handgun and ammunition along with a quantity of suspected marijuana from a property in the Kennedy Subdivision.
Preliminary reports indicate that around 10pm on Saturday, officers executed a search warrant on a residence at Lily Way, Golden Palm Estates, where they discovered the items.
While no arrests were made, police say they are following significant leads.
