SKY Bahamas CEO Randy Butler said yesterday that the carrier was looking to expand its domestic service to Long Island beginning as early as November, telling Tribune Business that it was also looking to resume its San Salvador service.

Sky Bahamas recently announced its service into North Eleuthera. Mr Butler said: “We started that service on Friday past, its coming on well. We hope to expand those services not only to North Eleuthera but Governor’s Sound as well. Then we’re looking at Long Island and we’re looking to resume our route to San Salvador. One of the big things for the season in Eleuthera we’re hoping do Fort Lauderdale to North Eleuthera and North Eleuthera to Fort Lauderdale in the fall.”

Mr Butler added: “We may start the Long Island service as early as November this year. The US service from Nassau is very seasonal so we may have to take a reduced amount of flights from Nassau to Fort Lauderdale and put those assets elsewhere like Long Island and San Salvador. We’re hoping to partner with local hotel on those islands.”

Sky Bahamas also services Exuma, Freeport, Marsh Harbour, Cat Island as well as New Providence.
