Believers celebrate with national day of prayer and fasting

By Elder Matthew B. Adderley

On Independence morning, a group of people assembled at Fort Montagu in the spirit of prayer and supplication for The Bahamas. This group, led by Pastor Wilfred T. Adderley, assembled in front of the actual fort and formed a circle signifying the spirit of unity within the group who assembled in obedience to the voice of God through the message of his daughter Sis. Kathleen Rollins to pray for his mighty intervention to prevent further destruction and calamity that is falling upon our land, while seeking for his righteous right hand to restore healing and deliverance from sin and evil in this our beloved nation.

Other servants of God dreamed and warned about coming disasters through floods, tornadoes and the spread of disease causing epidemics.

As Pastor Adderley in concert with his son Matthew and two young women, Valerie and Tanya Bain sang the song “Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross”, God’s presence was surely there.

As led by the holy spirit, everyone came into an agreement that we needed to intercede on behalf of the nation and the people before God concerning crime and violence, sexual perversion, immorality, and abuse, illegal human smuggling and immigration, illegal drug trafficking; alcohol and drug Addiction; defiance against law and order, and peace. As each person prayed sincerely from a heart open to God and his divine power, for guidance, and direction, it is a privilege to report that everyone knew that God’s presence was there with us and through his holy spirit, we even saw manifested in the skies, evidence of God revealing that he was with us.

We saw two large stars in the sky that appeared in the direction of where we stood. By faith, we believed that the stars we saw represented “ministering angels” from heaven that took keen note of our supplications and petitions to enter the throne room in heaven. Sealing our intercession, on behalf of the nation was a prayer by Sister Valerie Bain being the final prayer of thanksgiving and praise as we all thanked God for his mighty, unwavering grace and mercy for these 39 years of being an independent Bahamas.

We sang the national anthem, and at the sound of the last note in the anthem, out of a little cloud to the right, came the sound of claps and peals of thunder, that sounded like a 21 gun salute. Our only response after such a spirit-filled prayer service was to shout rounds of praise the lord, awesome God, and hallelujah.

We began to sing “Our God is an Awesome God”. Then a group of seagulls, to the right of us, flew right over our heads and put on a spectacular bird show: the lead bird flew within three feet of Pastor, Sis. Valerie and Matthew hovering by each of them for about 30 seconds, then flying off and led the group of birds into somersaults, dives and skilful twists and turns in the air.

God had accepted our prayers and worship. This led to a testimony from Sis. Tanya Bain that as Bro. Matthew was praying against the defiance and for restoration of law and order, she saw in the spirit, a white veil coming down from heaven over us like a tent, and as it came over us, it went to the ground and continued moving over the ground as it moved along the road where we stood. There was also a testimony from two members within the group that as the intercessory prayers were being given, they saw a bright red band at the top of the two large bright stars in the sky, while another member saw a cluster of little stars instead of the red band.

There was another smaller star (the North Star) to the left and at the bottom of the moon that stood out and the two large stars appeared nearer to us. As they contemplated the meaning of this great sight, all of us, without any discussion, realized that in the spirit, God was showing us that the stars represented two companies of angels because these stars began to move.

Later that day in answer to prayer, the holy spirit said: “the red glow represents the blood of the Covenant”. It was also revealed that the green glow at the tail end represented “life on earth” and the bright streams of bright orange light represents “the glory of God” surrounding the stars, which signifies that they were “ministering angels” (Heb. 1:14)

Let us take back the Bahamas for God. I wish to appeal to all Bahamians to join us in prayer every morning at 5:00 am for the healing of our nation. I am aware that most persons may query this appeal as to who it came from. However, to those who believe and are obedient, we can say: “to God be the glory, great things he has done”, and he will continue to do for our nation, the Bahamas.
