POLICE are requesting the public’s assistance with investigations into a Coral Harbour shooting that left one man in hospital and two East Street armed robberies, both happening in the middle of the afternoon.
According to police reports, the shooting happened shortly after 11pm Saturday.
The victim was at a local park in Coral Harbour when he got into an argument with a man he knew.
As a result, the victim was shot twice in his lower body before the gunman fled the area in a blue car, the make and model of which are unknown.
The victim was taken to hospital by EMS where he is listed in stable condition.
Also on Saturday, two separate armed robberies in the East Street area saw a man and a woman confronted with a gunman dressed in black.
The first incident reportedly occurred shortly after noon. The victim was sitting in her car on the corner of East Street and Quakoo Street when a man, armed with a handgun, approached her.
The suspect robbed the woman of cash and then fled on foot.
He was described as a tall, medium-built black man wearing a black shirt and short black pants.
The second robbery reportedly occurred “moments after” the first incident, according to police reports.
Shortly after noon, the victim was walking through Sunlight Cottage off East Street when a man, armed with a handgun, approached him.
The gunman then robbed the man of cash before fleeing on foot.
The suspect was described as a stout, black man wearing black clothing.
Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information regarding the incidents to contact police at 919 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS. Police note all information will be kept “strictly confidential.”
