LOCAL health and fitness enthusiast Kenny Mackey participated in his first ever body building competition - the prestigious South Beach Classic - in the men’s physique category over the weekend.
The South Beach Classic held in Miami, Florida, in conjunction with the Masters Olympia is one of the biggest shows in bodybuilding and fitness of the year.
Participants from around the world came to put on their best show, according to a press release.
“Mackey beat out the competition to claim first place which automatically qualifies him for the US Nationals. This is a major accomplishment and Mackey confirms that it’s not the last as he is working with his coach IFBB pro Joel Stubbs to set a schedule of competitions for 2013.
“Mackey thanks his coach for his guidance and advice throughout the process, as well as his team members and family for their support. There is a lot more to see from this fine athlete in the coming months. So stay tuned,” said the release.
