FOLLOWING the success of their production “One Man’s Struggle”, twin sisters Radel Pierre and Ranel Parks of Redemptive Productions are about to wow audiences once again, with a new dramatic stage play “The Other Woman.”
This stage play tells the story of Karen, a young beautiful and artistic married woman who finds herself entangled in an extra-marital affair with Wade, her manager who is also married. The story follows the ripple effect made by a series of decisions, as secrets become exposed and lives are caught in a consequence. At its core, the producers say the stage play is a story of the power of love, forgiveness and a look at how no one wins at the hands of deception; including a girl that never dreamt she would become “The Other Woman”.
“We believe the power of redemption is the most potent theme in the play and that no relationship can survive or thrive rather without first loving God and then yourself. That is very important and that is what the audience will walk away with. We expect so much of our spouses, our friends, our colleagues when we don’t even love ourselves. No matter where you are, what you’ve done, we want the audience to know that God loves them, and that because of the value he places on us we can love ourselves truly,” said Ms Parks. To be held at the Rainforest Theatre, Wyndham Nassau Resort and Crystal Palace Casino, “The Other Woman” will be live this weekend. Show times are Friday and Saturday night with an additional Saturday matinee.
Ms Parks has been very active in the arts and entertainment world, IN 2006, she was honoured by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture. A wife, mother and business woman, Ms Parks is also the author of the self-published book, “Black Pages” and is the writer and director of “The Other Woman.” Ms Pierre is a seasoned and versatile production manager, event planner and producer. Her portfolio includes a role as production coordinator for the multimillion dollar film “Matrimonio alle Bahamas”, which was shot in Exuma, Bahamas in 2007. She managed her own production management company, PAGE Productions, before cofounding Redemptive Productions. Ms Parks said she is looking forward to showcasing quality Bahamian entertainment, in addition to the powerful messages and themes. “I am looking forward to the audience being inspired and to the national dialogue that the play will surely create in homes, in the workplace and in every aspect of society that relationships affect or influence. The subject is very relevant so there are great expectations as far as what the audience receives through each character,” said Ms Parks. She said persons will find that the play is a “dynamic production” involving originality and great undertakings in every aspect from the script, to the set, to the filmed scenes, to the music and sound effects.
“More than that however, the actors are superb. The audience will truly get lost and find themselves again in the story as the actors fully embody their characters. That is first and foremost. I do believe people will absolutely forget they are watching a play,” said Ms Parks. Ms Pierre said the stage play will have an impact on those that have been affected by the subject of “sweet-hearting”. She said they all can expect to be blown away.
“I mean that in every sense. From the talent, the message of the play, the hope and redemptive quality that the play brings, the set design and all other elements that will come together to make a spectacular production,” she said.
The main mission of Redemptive Productions is to “present real issues that affect the average person and to propose redemption, restoration and healing from those issues”. This was the inspiration behind the concept.
