X Factor USA semi-finalists were revealed last week during the elimination show. Cece Frey said her final goodbyes before she was booted off the show for receiving the lowest viewer votes.
Throughout the season, Cece had a hard time connecting with fans and judges. Except for her mentor Demi, it seemed Cece was no one’s favourite. She constantly every week after enduring horrendous critiques from all of the judges except Demi.
It was as if people just wanted her gone from the competition along time ago. Some viewers tweeted their views, saying she had “no personality”.
“Thank God CeCe is so gone out of this competition. If you ask me, she should have been eliminated weeks ago so contestants that didn’t get the chance, can still actually be in the competition, but oh well,” said one viewer.
Before her departure, CeCe left these words with her fans and the judges: “I hope that I taught everybody at home that you need to love who you are, because the more you love who you are, the less you’re going to need anyone else to.” CeCe took her leave after her mentor Demi broke down in tears and shared encouraging words. CeCe was Demi’s last contestant in the young adult category of the competition.
Diamond White and Fifth Harmony sang for survival in the competition. Fifth Harmony went first, singing Mariah Carey’s “ Anytime You Need a Friend.” Diamond sang and gave all she had in a performance of Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance.”
All of the judges, except Diamond’s mentor Britney, voted to send her home and out of the competition. This is the second time Diamond was eliminated from the competition, as the judges brought her back just a few weeks ago as a “wild card contestant.”
Still cheerful and young hearted Diamond said: “I’ll be sure to come back with one of my hit songs and I’ll perform for you guys.”
Tune in tonight and tomorrow night for more X Factor USA.
