Suspect in child sex case remanded to prison

A MAN was remanded to prison yesterday after being charged with having sex with a young boy.

Jose Thompson, 32, of High Vista, appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez.
It is claimed that he had sex with the victim between October 2009 and November 2012.

The acts allegedly began when the boy was eight years old.

Thompson was not required to enter a plea to the charge due to its nature and was told his case would be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court for trial.

He will be served with a Voluntary Bill of Indictment on March, 12, 2013 to facilitate that process.

He was remanded to prison until the completion of his trial.

Devard Francis represented the accused.
