FREEPORT – Armed with gifts, lots of candies and an encouraging message, Grand Bahama Port Authority’s Employees of The Year distributed gifts to students of the Lewis Yard Primary School.

The visit, which saw the outsanding employees dressed as Santa’s elves, was part of the GBPA’s annual Toy Drive.

Vice president Ginger Moxey said: “The gifts that you received today are small rewards to remind you to study hard, stay focused on your goals and that you can achieve anything you put your mind to.

“Today I am joined by department Employees of The Year, and they will all tell you that success does not come easy. You have to study hard, work well and always be prepared to make good choices.”

Toy Drive co-ordinator Geneva Rutherford said it is a year-round initiative, one that employees look forward to.

“We begin our collections as early as January of each year, and employees are pleased at the end of the year when they see the bright happy faces of the recipients. Once we are done here today, the question will be, which school will it be next year?”
