EDITOR, The Tribune.
MICAL MP Alfred Gray charged yesterday (Tribune 14/12) that estimates used to calculate BEC bills were unfair and detrimental to the less fortunate.
He is probably correct but as a member of the present government surely he has access to the Chairmen of BEC and rather than calling on BEC to change the way it operates he should speak to the powers that can make the changes and then tell us what their position is.
However, to me the important issue here is not estimated bills but the cost of electricity - what does Mr Gray have to say about that?
If the less fortunate could afford their electricity because the cost was reasonable, estimates would not matter.
