Deann takes on role at port group

THE Chairman of The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Mr Ian Fair today announced the appointment of Deann Seymour to the position of Chief Financial Officer of The Grand Bahama Port Authority Group of Companies.

Mrs Seymour will be responsible for financial risks and planning and will report to the Board of Directors.

“We are extremely delighted to confirm the promotion of Deann from Group Financial Controller to Chief Financial Officer of our Group,” Mr Fair said. 

“She has demonstrated a keen understanding of the intricacies of the Group, and has clearly proven her ability to lead the Group on all financial matters.”

Mrs Seymour joined The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited in 2007, as Group Financial Analyst, and was promoted to Group Financial Controller in 2008.

Prior to this, she served in various financial capacities, including an Auditor with KPMG; Group Financial Controller of the Grand Bahama Shipyard; Senior Financial Analyst and Financial Accounting Manager with Hutchison Port Holdings.

Mrs Seymour has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fort Lauderdale College and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants.  

Mrs Seymour was born in Nassau, and raised in Freeport. She is married to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr Emrick Seymour, and they are the proud parents of Emrinique and Emrick Jr.
