EDITOR, The Tribune.
May I re-empt the Prime Minister on what we should be asked on this really stupid question because the PLP had the issue in their platform and I think the PLP won?
The question should be simple as this.......
You have ‘one vote’……only ‘one vote’:
Question: Do you wish Numbers-Web Shops?
Yes ( ).
Question: Do you wish a lottery operated by professionals? Yes ( ).
Question: I am AGAINST all gambling - No to both questions....( ).
You only may vote one-time....additional votes disqualify your vote.
Really how can we have an opinion or have a position as we are voting on something we do not know the terms or conditions of, how many licenses for Web Shops/Numbers will be issued?
We realise there will be one Lottery Licence. There could be more than one.
The Prime Minister to his credit did say the process for obtaining a Web Shop or a Lottery Licence will be like what Operators of Casinos go through – well, Editor, get your journalists to check the Rules and Conditions of a Casino licence.
If the Prime Minister is going to follow this through I have to suggest that implies not a single one of the existing Web Shop or Numbers operators qualify.
