Police are attempting to identify the body of a man washed ashore on a beach in Eleuthera on Saturday.
Police say there received reports around 4.55pm, from a local resident, of a body on the shoreline of a beach in Rock Sound.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the body of a Caucasian male, lying dace down with a diving fin on one foot.
A local doctor pronounced the man dead. Investigations are continuing in the matter, however foul play is not suspected.
In other crime news, a 21-year-old man is police custody after he was found in possession of dangerous drugs.
Police say shortly after 2pm on Sunday, officers from the Mobile Division and K Unit were on patrol on Farrington Road when they observed the man acting suspiciously. The officers conducted a search of the man and found a quantity of dangerous drugs in his possession.
Investigations continue in this matter.
