THIS year marks the 50th anniversary of the Bahamas Dental Association, and the occasion is being commemorated with a series of special events.
The celebrations kicked off with a church service at Evangelistic Temple on February 5.
The association will also observe National Children's Dental Health Month during the entire month of February.
Emphasis will be placed on the dental health of children ages 6-12.
Dental health information for children will be highlighted throughout the month on TV, radio talk shows and in newspapers.
Special free clinics for children have been organised through private dental offices and the public health system.
The month will feature as its main highlight the Bahamas Dental Association's "Rush 2 Brush" extravaganza.
This is scheduled for Saturday, February 18 between noon and 5pm at the Mall at Marathon.
There will be free dental screenings for children and free blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol checks for adults.
There will be gifts and giveaways for all children participating. The public is invited to attend.
