THE NASSAU Cup is on the line as two Bahamas Rugby Football Union powerhouses square off this weekend in the second game of a double header to decide the top team in the capital this season.

Baillou RC will square off against Cuckoos RC, Saturday at 4pm at the Winton Rugby Center in the last weekend of the Nassau Cup.

Baillou come in as the defending champions after they won last year's Nassau Cup with a 5-1 record and 24 points.

They just slightly edged out Cuckoos who also finished with a 5-1 record but just 23 team points.

This year, Baillou sports an undefeated record, while the only blemish on Cuckoos record came at the hands of Baillou, a 13-11 loss in November.

In 2011, Baillou also captured the Bahamas Cup, at 5-0, a total of 24 points.

In the first match of the day, Potcakes RC and Buccaneers RC open competition at 2pm.

Bucs won the first matchup in a 30-0 shutout earlier in the season, however Potcakes have gained a great deal of confidence after last weekend's performance against Baillou, when they held a half-time lead.

BRFU Director Elystan Miles said the rematch between the two teams should set the stage for an exciting finish to the Cup.

"Baillou has been the top team all year and most people have them pegged as the favorites to repeat. They have an experienced squad but also got a good injection of youth and people around the league were high on them until the showing last week," he said, "That gave Cuckoos a lot of confidence now. They beat Baillou last year and played them really tough in November so it should set the stage for an exciting finish to the Nassau Cup."
