AN EARLY morning nightclub brawl led to the murder of a 22-year-old man.
It was one of two killings in New Providence and a third in Grand Bahama over the weekend which brought the country’s murder count to 72.
The brawl came after an argument broke out in Magic City sometime after 3am on Saturday.
The fight continued outside in the club’s parking lot in the Westridge Shopping Centre where one man received gunshot injuries to his upper body and another man was shot in the back of the head and died at the scene.
According to police, the murder victim was a resident of Hospital Lane. While police have not yet released the man’s identity, sources have named the victim as Jerome Davis, alias “Sticky”.
A second murder happened on Friday evening at McCullough Corner off East Street after two men got into a fight.
According to police, the murder victim was struck in the head with an unidentified object shortly after 11pm. Sources have identified the victim as Kelsey Johnson.

Grand Bahama recorded its sixth homicide for the year on Saturday when a young man was gunned down in the street in broad daylight.
Police were called just before 4.30pm after gunshots were heard in the Yeoman’s Woods area. The victim, a 33-year-old Freeport resident, was shot multiple times.
When officers arrived at the scene near Spoonbill Loop, they discovered the body of a black man lying on the northern side of East Indianman Road.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious, including a vehicle speeding away from the area, should call police on 350 3107/9, 352 9774/5 or 911.
Police also reported that the body of a white man was discovered on South Bimini yesterday morning. The man was holidaying on the island with family members. No cause of death has been released.
Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe travelled to Bimini to meet with the family of the victim and offer condolences on behalf of the government.
Police investigations continue.
